I. Introduction

Natural testosterone (T) compounded in a micronized form in TC has a very large safety margin. Direct toxicity from natural testosterone is unknown in men. Due to the slow absorption, TC can be used once daily by most men, duplicating the natural process of testosterone cycling.

Using TC Therapy there are no peaks and valley levels of testosterone (T) as occurs with weekly testosterone injections. Due to the steady absorption and high bioidentical testosterone dose, it does not take much hormone to exceed the recommended physiologic dosage. For this reason, TestoCreme® requires monitoring by a physician and regular blood tests are important to determine the " optimum" testosterone level for each individual. The individual minimum of serum testosterone, below which sexual behavior is impaired lies somewhere between 200 and 450 ng/dl for total testosterone or 10-40 pg/ml for free testosterone levels.

Testocreme®(pat.) micronized testosterone with rapid absorption polymers was developed in Monterey. This cream form is now available in various strengths of 5%-10% containing from 50 to 100 mg of testosterone per gram (about one-quarter teaspoon). More easily regulated than patches or shots, Testocreme® transdermal testosterone can be applied either daily or twice a day to a small, 3"-4" diameter area of non-genital hairless skin along the ribs . The release of 10-20 mg of natural testosterone directly into the blood stream occurs within a few hours of application and continues for over 24 hours. Blood levels stabilize after one to two weeks of use due to saturation of the subdermal fat with absorbed or bound testosterone. Both free and total testosterone should be monitored.

Testosterone products are a Class 111 prescription item. TC when applied daily to non-genital skin provides up to 24 hour duration of action. II. Testocreme®(patent) - How To Use It and Side Effects

Side effects of any anabolic/androgenic steroid depend on the stimulation of receptors (keys) on target cells. These receptors exist in sebaceous glands, hair follicles, muscle tissue and brain tissue. These effects include increased acne, body hair growth, male pattern baldness, and increased moodiness. Physicians must monitor the patient's liver function (even if oral steroids are not being used) and blood levels, withdrawing or decreasing the hormone if too many side effects occur.

Acne: Traditionally increased steroid use leads to acne in both men and women due to activation of sebaceous glands. Women with polycystic ovaries report acne as a severe problem related to excess androgens present in their serum. A report in : Investigational Dermatology in 1993 using Spironolactone as a 5-alpha DHT inhibitor to treat acne explains this mechanism clearly. Acne is easily controlled with OTC Benzoyl Peroxide. Other Side effects: The commonest side effects of the cream was an occasional skin irritation, ( 2/55) slightly increased acne (7/55) , or
weight gain (15/55). Weight gain was apparent in men who ate too much due
to the appetite stimulation effects of testosterone. Men who consumed excess calories or did not exercise regularly gained the most weight.
Exercisers gained mostly muscular ( lean body mass) weight . Lean muscle mass is increased and weight may increase but inches are dropped in waist and hip size, due to the testosterone's anabolic effect.

Beneficial Effects: An increased sense of well being, a decrease in body fat percentage (recorded by body fat monitors), lowered total cholesterol and decreased risk of heart attack are the primary beneficial effects of testosterone replacement in hypogonadal (testosterone deficient) men. TC is non-toxic and contains 10% micronized testosterone (anabolic/androgenic ratio 1/1) in a hydrogel base which crosses the skin-blood barrier very efficiently .

III. Injectable Steroids vs. TestoCreme®(pat.)

Longer lasting injectable preparations such as enanthate and cypionate esters are synthetic steroid esters . These T products are delivered intramuscularly by injection with rapid peak levels and then low valleys before the next injection. Most of these esters of testosterone do not last the full two weeks for which they are usually prescribed. Often weekly injections are needed and liver metabolism is required to release the free T. This "first pass" through the liver creates numerous side effects including gynecomastia (breast enlargement in men) and liver cysts and hepatitis.

Oral synthetic testosterone products, such as Android or Winstrol , have even more dangerous side effects. Only 1/6th of the hormone is absorbed by this route with increasing dose related side effects. Most of these side effects are related to liver toxicity and E2 conversion from the super high doses used by some bodybuilders. Increased aggression due to high estradiol levels, female breasts, cystic acne, loss of libido, shrinking of testicles, loss of sexual hair, even liver cancer and loss of intelligence can result from oral steroid abuse.

Testocreme®(patent) does not appear to have any negative side effects when used in physiologic doses. The beneficial effects are remarkable, including an "increased sense of well-being" reported by over 90% of the men in our study. Data analysis revealed that blood testosterone levels quickly stabilized within the physiologic range (300-1200 ng/dl) .

The blood levels of testosterone were adjusted to those of much "younger men." The majority of the men in the study maintained therapeutic blood levels comparable to using testosterone injections with as little as 1/2 gram of TestoCreme® daily .The cost of TestoCreme® is about $1.00 a gram therefore the monthly charges range from $30-100 depending on dosage. TC can only be prescribed by a physician.

I've been lifting weights seriously for 7 years, but I experienced gains in muscle mass very slowly. I am glad to report the ongoing success of the Testocreme treatment. Before I found out about it from you, I was in a miserable state. I had difficulty in achieving an erection that would last long enough to satisfy me or my wife. Dear Dr.K,
Everything appears to be going well. I seem to be losing fat and gaining muscle but it is a slow process and I can't tell if the TC+ is playing a role or if it's only the improved diet etc. Most apparent though is the increased libido and that the ejaculate has returned to it's natural white color and consistency instead of the yellowish, granular fluid that was so alarming to me over the past year. Sexual functioning is improving.

I doubted that your testocreme would work, after all I have taken more of,or what I thought to be more anabolic substances. I came to your office for exame, and started that day of January, the seventh. Tomarrow will be four weeks on. I'm thick as a brick! arms, (17 1/2) were (16 1/4) my pecs are more filled out. Waist size is a little smaller, shirt and pants legs are tighter. Calves are 16, still under construction. More people at the gym are starting to notice. It's not easy but some has got to do it I suppose. I will schedule a blood test tomorrow (androgen panel). Also I'll have my wife take some pictures of me today. I know you said wait two months, but I need to get this frame by frame because its incredible. Can I stay on the Tcream the whole year? and are you sure I won't get over 200 lbs. like the roid freaks? why is this so anabolic? This is good stuff......Im sky high.

My results with the Testocreme have been very satisfactory. I'm having an increase in libido, increased frequency of AM erections ( nearly daily), increased flaccid penile volume, and increased duration and turgidity of erections. Intercourse is more satisfying, and has been much more frequent.
I was on a body-building program before starting TestoCreme, and I have continued the program while on it. I've increased the mass lifted on all major muscle group exercises by at least 20 pounds, and in the case of leg press, by almost 200. Muscle mass is increased, and body composition has dropped to 8% body fat. Recovery time seems to be reduced, and I'm able to do cardio daily without excessive fatigue. BP is normal 130/80; pulse is 55-60; resp. 10-12. I've had to buy several sets of pants and belts over the last 3 months, but I promised myself I wouldn't ever complain about that!
My mood seems to be more consistently elevated, but that could just be feeling good from the other changes. And my appetite has increased to be more like that of a twenty year old. I don't remember eating like this when I was a teen ager. I think that about covers it. You can see why I am reluctant to run out of TestoCreme.

Just got back from the eye doctor, and I have what I believe is another Testocreme success story.
I suffer from mild nearsightedness (hard to see things far away), and I have been a contact wearer for the past 10 years, starting at age 23. For most of the past 10 years my prescription has been the same: -1.50 left eye, -1.25 right eye. This is what my prescription was the prior time I had my eyes checked, June 2000. Well, I was measured today, August 2001, for a new prescription and my eyes have improved! My new prescription is
-1.25 left eye, -0.75 right eye. The doctor reported this was very unusual for anyone, and especially in only 14 months.
Now, I don't know what effect T has on visual acuity. But I do know this:
